kirchlichen Widerstands und seine Beurteilung sollen im Folgenden eingehend betrachtet werden. Dabei setzt sich die vorliegende Arbeit im Speziellen mit den Fragen auseinander, welche Ziele der kirchliche Widerstand verfolgte und durch welche Maßnahmen die Kirchen im Deutschland diese erreichen wollten. Dazu soll zunächst der Widerstand im Allgemeinen definiert und von anderen Formen politischer Gewalt abgegrenzt werden. Daran anknüpfend folgt eine Unterscheidung zwischen dem politischen und dem kirchlichen Widerstand. Anschließend werden die Formen und Methoden des kirchlichen Protests aus dem historischen Kontext heraus dargestellt und dessen Ziele näher beleuchtet. Den Abschluss der Arbeit bildet eine Zusammenfassung und Bewertung dieses Engagements.
